Rush Rush

I am flying to Paris tomorrow night and I feel as if there are tonnes of things that I haven't done.

I haven't started to pack, I haven't gone through my training materials, I haven't learned (and mastered) any basic French phrases, I haven't done enough research on where to visit and how to get there... gosh.. so many things!

Perhaps I am getting a bit nervous because I am going to a country which I haven't been before and on top of that, a country that speaks very little english. Thank goodness I am going with a colleague, so instead of 1 person pointing the fingers everywhere; there will be 2 people doing that. ;-)

Although everything seems to be rush rush, I have to admit that I am feeling rather excited of going there. I haven't been to such a far away place for quite some time already. If I remember correctly, the last long haul trip that I made was to New York in 2005.

I am sure everything will turn out great and hopefully I will be able to update my blog when I am there. Au Revoir!

Gong Xi Gong Xi

Happy Chinese New Year!!! May the God of Prosperity comes to our homes and bring us lots of gold. Also may all of us have better health, happiness and peace.

Gong Xi Gong Xi!

Paris, Here I /We Come!!

After waiting for almost 3 weeks, I finally gotten the answer. My training in Paris is finally confirmed to be ON!!! Yeahhhhhh.....

Actually I was supposed to go there last November but as my boss "reserved" me for something else, my place was swapped with another colleague. The "reserved" thing didn't happen and with the current economy, I was really worried that my trip to Paris would be cancelled. So I tried to keep my hopes down as I didn't want be too disappointed if plans were to change.

Then 2 weeks ago, my boss told me about the possibility that the training will be relocated to somewhere else... somewhere which was very undesirable (at least to me). I was sooooo disappointed and my whole day was covered with dark clouds. Then the location got changed to US which the clouds cleared a little bit and finally back to Paris (the clouds totally cleared then). I of course was very happy it's back to Paris as I never been there before. I wanna go see Mona Lisa leh!!

I was supposed to get an email from the training center in Paris to really confirm my trip but I didn't receive anything. I think my boss also got a bit fed up with me as I kept pestering her on whether the trip is still on or not, even when I was on my 1 week vacation in Singapore.

I finally received THE email 2 days ago.... and I can now start to buy my winter clothing and change my money to Euros. I have less than a week to get all these done... and I definitely need to do some shopping this Chinese New Year.

The training will be for 2 weeks and I am extending my stay for a week. Gan and JM will be joining me at the end of the 2nd week and we will be a threesome in exploring the beauty of the City of Romance, hehehe.... I am sure it will be very fun!!!

Haven't done any planning on where to go and where to stay though. Guess we will need to make time to sit down and plan the itinerary.

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum, SG

This is my 2nd visit to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum located in the middle of Singapore's Chinatown. This place includes the Buddhist Culture Museum, Eminent Sangha Museum, Tripitaka Chamber and the Exhibition Hall. Yes, it is very large with many things to see... and it's free!

I really love it as I could feel the sense of calmness and peace there. I am sure I will pay it a visit again in my next Singapore trip.

Mission Unaccomplished

I am currently in Singapore for my 5 days holiday. I was supposed to do this a month ago but my boss cancelled my leaves then.

I am planning of having a very relaxing time here. If I feel like it, I will go out. Else I will just rot indoors in front of the laptop or the TV. Anyhow, I did plan to do some Chinese New Year shopping although so far (my 2nd day here), I have yet to buy a single clothing.

I instead bought myself the new Fish Leong's album which is very very nice and came in 2 CDs. I would recommend this to anyone but then again, I am her fan and may not be very objective about it.

Today I went out to Orchard Road in the mission of buying myself some new clothes. Nah.. mission still left unaccomplished. Didn't feel the CNY mood la... somemore there isn't any elaborate CNY decorations in Orchard Road.

Anyway I did manage to catch a Lion Dance performance at Centrepoint Mall. That would be my first for the Year of the Ox. After watching that, I felt a tinge of CNY mood, but still not enough to fulfill my mission. Sigh...

PK

I just discovered that Fish Leong has released her new album a month ago! See la what type of fan I am. Anyway, I must get my hands on that album soon.

This is a song from the new album. It's a duet with another Malaysian singer, Gary Cao and I believe "PK" here doesn't mean "Pokai"!

My affair with the yellow man - Part 2

First and foremost, I need to clarify that I am not in anyway been paid by DiGi for my posts on them. In fact, I have not earned a single cent through my blog so far... pathetic I know, but then again that was not at all my intention when I started this blog. If I get to earn some along the way, that's great... if not, I am fine too. I guess this blog is more of "syok sendiri" for myself. :-)

Now, back to my affair with the yellow man. I have just gotten my first bill with DiGi, meaning that it has been a month since I switched from Maxis to them. My bill... RM76.12 and this is including the one time Stamp Duty charge of RM10. So if I minus that off, my usage last month was only about RM66. With my previous service provider, my total bill was always above RM84. Quite some savings, right?

Oh and I finally got my first batch of bonus points. For every RM1 spent with DiGi, you'll get 1 bonus point that you can accumulate. After you've accumulated enough points, you can use them to redeem vouchers or to offset your bill amount. For my first month's bill, they gave me 573 bonus points! I am not complaining and if it's a mistake, I hope DiGi will not take them back. If they do, I guess I will need to write a bad post about them, hehe.

So far I am really happy with my new service provider. They gave me the feeling that they are young (oh, I sooooo need to feel young), fun and innovative. On top of that, I feel I am very much appreciated for being their patron. Also, I have no complaints on the coverage.

With all these, I am slowly becoming (hmm... I think I may have already became) the yellow man's stalker, as I check out their website and related forums EVERYDAY! They do come out with many promotions, something that I cannot say for my previous service provider.

Yellow is definitely one of my favourite colours now.

With Chinese New Year around the corner, I just can't help but to remember this TV Commercial:

With ..., comes ...

I remember this phrase from the Spiderman movie - "With power, comes responsibility". Lately I am experiencing something like that, except that in my case it's "With a new gadget, comes more spending".

Yeah, with my new iPod Touch, comes the need for its "necessities" (a.k.a accessories). So far I have spent quite a bit on those, you know... the basic stuff like casing, charger, mic adapter etc.

So when I received an email telling me about Malaysia Apple Store's coming promotion, I was excited... and at the same time worried. Will I be able to control myself ... or will I succumb to temptation? We shall see... next Wednesday.

What is a Podcast?

I am so so embarrassed by my ignorance. I always thought podcast is a blog with videos and music. When I was talking to my friend over dinner just now about iPod Touch and how he uses it to view podcasts, only then I realised how wrong my understanding of podcast was.

If you are also as ignorant as me, do have a look at the video below:

I am now happily downloading podcasts to my iTunes and later sync to my iPod Touch. This is fun!!

PhotoHunt: Hope

If darkness comes, I hope there is a light that can guide us in our way.
